About Chinmaya Mission

Lotus
The Chinmaya Movement began in 1951 in Pune, with Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda's first public lecture series on Vedanta. It was formally established as Chinmaya Mission in 1953, to bring about inner transformation through spiritual knowledge, daily practice, and service to society.

What began as a handful of seekers gathering for satsang has grown into a global presence, sharing knowledge, nurturing devotion, and uplifting lives through compassionate action.

Chinmaya Mission's motto is:“To give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time.”

Today, with a presence in over 350 locations around the world, Chinmaya Mission works across spiritual education, value-based schooling, healthcare, rural development, cultural outreach and ecological initiatives, all rooted in selfless service.

As the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav unfolds, communities across the world come together in celebration. Whether through mass chanting or theatre, through seva or satsang, each offering is a tribute to 75 years of living Vedanta.
